Lakshman Senerath Doolwela, fondly known as Lucky in the tourism fraternity, counts over 44 years of experience in travels across Sri Lanka. Lucky hails from Doolwela a village named after his great, great grandfather who was the personal physician to the last King of Sri Lanka and ruler of the Kandyan Kingdom.
An expert in Kandyan culinary skills, acquired from his beloved “athamma” (grandmother), Lucky can talk for hours on how dishes are prepared and preserved. His knowledge and passion for history and wildlife are what keep him ticking. An avid reader and a great conversationalist, he has accompanied prominent groups such as the Royal College of Surgeons and the National Geographical leopard trails team, through Sri Lanka.

Welcome to Sri Lanka! As you drive into the coastal city of Colombo, you are treated to a burst of activity across town squares and bustling street markets, followed by quiet neighbourhoods with colonial bungalows, posh boutiques and shady boulevards. Spend the evening interacting with your journey expert.
In the morning, enjoy a quick tour of Colombo. And then drive down to the South Coast’s most popular city – Galle, approximately 2.5 hours away. Walk around town with an experienced architect, with Dutch ancestry, offering unparalleled insights into the heritage of the area. Later, witness the delicate craft of lacemaking in an encounter with beeralu lace-makers.
Drive to the charming hill town of Kandapola, an approximately 6.5-hour drive. Enjoy lunch at a resort and take the rest of the day to relax.
Visit a tea factory to hear interesting anecdotes about the history of this household drink, and learn about its delicate and varied growing and brewing processes. Later, enjoy a leisurely walk or an adventure trek to experience the varied landscapes, exotic flora and abundant birdlife of the area
Ride through picturesque countryside from Nanu Oya to Kandy in the early morning train. Witness backstage preparations of the colourful “Perahera” festival – one of the grandest Buddhist celebrations in Sri Lanka.
*Note: For groups of over 10 people, we can arrange for a private carriage with an astrologer, masseurs for soothing foot/ head massages and tropical fresh fruits. For less than 10 people, seats are arranged in the normal carriage, subject to availability at the time of booking.
Visit the Embekka Devalaya – dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Mahasen. Known for its intricate wood carvings, the temple offers some of the best examples of Sinhalese art. Take the evening to rejuvenate.
Start your day early as we head out of Kandy towards the historic site of Sigiriya. Visit a spice garden on route to learn about various spices and their uses. Next, visit Dambulla – a vast isolated rock mass 500 feet high and a mile around the base.
Drive through thick jungles into the ancient streets of Polonnaruwa; ride a bullock-cart to experience life in the village and visit a traditional handloom village.
Drive down to Negombo, an approximately 4-hour drive. Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach.
Transfer to Colombo Airport to board the flight towards onward destination.

Due to any unforeseen circumstances, if any airline opts to cancel / withdraw their flight operation(s) on particular sector(s) their liability is limited to the 100% refund of the airfare charged for the particular sector(s) and do not stand responsible for re-routing or re-booking seats on any other airline. In such events / situations, Creative Travel Pvt. Ltd. will try best to work out most suitable alternative option to make our guests travel and all applicable supplement(s), if any, to be borne by the guests / passengers

BOOKING
1.25 % of Journey cost to be paid at the time of booking
2.Remaining payment to be paid 70 days prior to Journey
3.If booking is made within 70 days of the journey, full payment is required to confirm the Journey
4.Payment can be made by bank transfer or through Creative's online payment gateway
CANCELLATION
1.Upto 70 days prior to Journey - 10% cancellation fee shall be applicable.
2.Between 69 - 50 days prior to Journey - 25% cancellation fee shall be applicable
3.Between 49 - 31 days prior to Journey - 50% cancellation fee shall be applicable
4.Less than 30 days prior to Journey - 100% cancellation fee shall be applicable
NAME CHANGE
1.Accommodation: Free of cost upto 72 hours before arrival
2.Flights: A fee of US$ 55 per person, per sector shall be applicable along with any change in the ticket fare.
3. Trains: A fee of US$ 5 per person, per sector shall be applicable.
The journeys are planned well in advance. We reserve the right to modify itineraries, substitute accommodations, including flights and trains, at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond our control such as
'force majeure' events - flood, fire, act of God, war or threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activities, strikes, airport closure, technical problems with transport, alteration or cancellation of scheduled travel services. Most of the changes will be minor and we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date but occasionally there could be a major change closer to the departure date.
We also reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements. For example, if the minimum number of guests required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached, we may have to cancel it.
In both conditions of change / cancellation, you will have the choice of either accepting the change of arrangements or cancelling your booked holiday and receiving a full refund deducting the taxes except where the major change/cancellation arises due to reasons of force majeure. In case of force majeure, we will refund you for all unutilised services after deducting taxes.
